The Founders Legacy Fund, established by KNOX creators Dricus Du Plessis and Ethan Hughes, reflects their deep gratitude and commitment to the South African community. Personally directed by the founders, the fund aims to uplift and empower the nation’s next generation of leaders.
Each year, five deserving students—between the ages of 10 to 26 years—are chosen to have their full year of school tuition covered, helping remove the financial barriers that can stand between them and a quality education. This initiative is the centerpiece of the founders’ dedication to community enrichment and their belief that education is one of the most powerful drivers of change.
The program also echoes the vision behind their creation of KNOX Hydration: offering a better, healthier option for young people to hydrate, stay focused, recover, and thrive—all without caffeine.
The Founders Legacy Fund is for students advancing their education, entering the workforce, or channeling their passion to spark change in their communities and beyond. The Founders believe in you—whether you’re just discovering your strengths or already bringing your vision to life and inspiring others to join in. It’s not simply writing a check; this is fostering a lasting partner and collaborator, offering connections and opportunities every step of the way to help your passion shine brightly enough to change the world.
Applicants will be evaluated on four key areas:
Passion: Demonstrates a clear life passion, outlining current efforts and future plans to pursue it. Can be anything! Just be passionate - Education - Sport - Art - Music
Social Impact: Defines a specific goal for creating positive change in the community and shows commitment to achieving it.
Personal Presentation: A personal story authentically and with emotional impact.
Educational Goals: An educational path—such as a program, college, or certificate—that supports their passion and ability to make a difference.

The Founders Legacy Fund is managed and directed solely by Dricus Du Plessis and Ethan Hughes, and complements KNOX’s existing community outreach and support.
